Our troop loves to camp.
here are a few things that might help you.
Let's start off with a packing list. It's best to tailor your packing list for you or your group's needs but HERE is a good one to get you started.
Extra tips to make your camping trip easier
Chuck Boxes have been around for many years. The Boy Scouts build them out of wood to hold all of their cooking equipment. They originated as a smaller version of the Chuck Wagons that were used on cattle drives to feed the cowboys. Our troop did not know how to build a wooden Chuck Box so we came up with and built a plastic one. We went to our local Wal-Mart and spent some tine in the container section building it.
Here is a close up VIDEO of the Chuck Box. |
Ever go to a campground bathroom and can't find a place to put your brush, facial soup, toothpaste, or toothbrush on the small sink? I don't know about you but I don't want to set my toothbrush on a sink used by the entire campground. Our troop found a better way. We got some Home Depot cloth tool belts and decorated them. Now when we go to brush our teeth we don't have to set anything on the sink, instead we use our Bath Pouch around our waist.
